On March 11, 2021, we teamed up with Tonebase for an in-depth, all-things-duo-piano conversation with From the Top host and our pal Peter Dugan. Complete with music video excerpts, wacky anecdotes, and compositional insights.
Interview with Verina Chen
While on tour in North Carolina earlier this month, we caught up with pianist Verina Chen for a short interview. Verina is writing her dissertation on YouTube’s uses in performance and private teaching to fulfill her DMA in piano performance at the University of Utah. In short, she’s amazing. Check it out!
Video Interview on Keyboard Magazine site
Exciting news: we will be featured in the September issue of Keyboard Magazine! To whet your appetite for the in-depth article, here's a video interview (filmed at Galapagos Art Space at NYC, just hours before our CD release party in May):
Interview with the San Francisco Classical Voice
We have another fairly comprehensive interview to share, this time with the San Francisco Classical Voice. Their title (not ours!): Anderson & Roe: Duo it All, with Heart. It was a laughter-filled interview in which we discuss all things from our Harry Potter & Star Wars adventures to our upcoming performances in San Francisco at the Salkind International Piano Duo Festival.
Speaking of which, don't miss our upcoming performances in San Francisco and Portland! Can't wait to see you all there!
On the Bench: A&R conversation with Lara Downes
We chatted with pianist Lara Downes by Skype a few weeks ago in preparation for our upcoming release party in Brooklyn. (Don't miss it! May 22nd.) The conversation was fun and unique -- since she, herself, is a pianist, it was different than the usual newspaper interview. In any case, she has posted the chat on her blog for all to enjoy.
In Lara's words,
Anderson & Roe is not:
1) A law firm
2) A figure skating pair
3) Married (to each other)
4) Your typical piano duo
And they don't wear "matching dresses." (Glad we got that out of the way!)
